DOLE, PESO collaborate with private sector for JobStart Program
Antipolo City, Rizal— DOLE CALABARZON and the City of Antipolo, Rizal forge partnerships with the College of San Benildo - Rizal Foundation, Inc and Eugenio Lopez Center for the implementation of the JobStart Philippines Program.
In a Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement and training documents, DOLE CALABARZON Regional Director Atty. Roy L. Burnafe commends the parties involved for their commitment to uphold youth employability.
“This agreement represents a collaborative effort to enhance the employability of our youth through the development of essential life skills, technical training, and valuable internship opportunities,” said Atty. Buenafe in his message delivered by Assistant Regional Director Atty. Marion S. Sevilla.
The JobStart trainees went 10-day core/soft skills training under the baton of Ms. Marie Fe B. Iquin of the City of Antipolo Public Employment Service Office. Thereafter, the College of San Benildo provides for a 45-day technical training on Food and Beverage Services NC II. Meanwhile, the Eugenio Lopez Center will accommodate the trainees for their 3-month internship period with the goal of having them absorbed by the same employer.
Present in the occasion are the officials from the partner training institution Mr. Rodrigo S. Ko, TVI Head and School Administrator, and Eugenio Lopez Center’s President, Mr. Oscar R. Lopez, Jr..
Also in gracing the activity is Antipolo City Mayor, Hon. Casimiro A. Ynares III, who thanked the partners for giving this opportunity to the youth of Antipolo City, adding that “equipped Filipinos can do anything through training and work experience.”
This partnership is a testament to the contribution of the DOLE, PESO and the private sector to the nation’s goal of enhancing the income earning capacity of our workforce towards the fulfillment of the Philippine Labor and Employment Plan.
