34 CPP-NPA-NDF supporters withdrew their affiliation in Rizal

  Camp Capinpin, Rizal - A total of 34 supporters of the CPP-NPA-NDF have formally withdrawn their support and denounced the communist group during a local peace engagement in San Mateo, Rizal on Friday, August 9.

With assistance from the 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade (202Bde), 80th Infantry “Steadfast” Battalion (80IB), and San Mateo Philippine National Police (PNP), the San Mateo Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (MTF-ELCAC) spearheaded the activity at Barangay Maly.

The event saw the formal withdrawal of support of 22 members of Grupong Pang-Organisa, 11 Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad, and a courier, most of whom are residents of the barangays of Maly, Burgos, and Malanday in San Mateo while some are from barangay Batasan in Quezon City.

The 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong commended the former supporters for their courage in breaking away from the deceptive clutches of the CPP-NPA-NDF. He emphasized that their decision to return to the fold of the law is a significant step towards peace and development in their communities.Maj. Gen. Capulong also assured them of 2ID’s continued support in their reintegration process, urging them to work together with the government to build a brighter and more peaceful future for Rizal.
