 Laguna FAES-OPAg holds Skills Training Course on Operation and Maintenance of Rice Processing System

Santa Cruz, Laguna – The Field Agricultural Extension Services-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (FAES-OPAg) held Skills Training Course on Operation and Maintenance of Rice Processing System on 28-30 August 2024 at the FAES Conference Hall in Barangay Calios.

The objectives of the activity are the following: 1) To acquire knowledge of the technological principles and systems of rice milling, operations and maintenance of the milling machines and dryers, and how to attain a higher efficiency in milling; 2) To identify and describe the different parts and different physical properties of the rice grain as they relate to its primary postharvest operations; and 3) To familiarize the different parts and functions of the rice mill and dryer, and to understand how to operate the rice milling machine and dryer.

The training was participated in by Acting Assistant Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Corazon Calabia, 6 FAES staff, 9 staff of Sta. Cruz LGU, 5 from PhilMech, 3 from National Food Authority, and 5 representatives from the rice mill & dryer supplier. (Photo by FAES-OPAg/Laguna PIO)
