Techno Demo Aralan on Cacao Production & Processing held in San Pablo City, Laguna

San Pablo City, Laguna - The Field Agricultural Extension Services-Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (FAES-OPAg) recently launched Techno Demo Aralan on Cacao Production & Processing at the Office of the City Agriculturist (OCA) in this city.

Objectives of the activity include enabling cacao farmers and producers in the province to gain knowledge on today’s farm technologies needed to produce and process cacao with quality competitive with other producers; and to improve the quality of processed cacao beans and its products. 

The activity was participated in by members of San Pablo City Cacao Growers Association, OCA staff, and staff from FAES-OPAg.

Prior to this, a Techno Demo Aralan/Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Corn Production & Management was held in Brgy. Looc, Calamba City with 87 participants composed of Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) track high school students and farmers from said barangay, supervised by the City Agriculture Office of Calamba, ATI Region IV-A, FAES head Mr. Marlon P. Tobias and staff.

Laguna PDRRMO holds Incident Command System Position Course

  The Laguna Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Mr. Aldwin M. Cejo, in coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense CALABARZON, conducted a 5-day Incident Command System (ICS) - Position Course at El Cielito Hotel, Santa Rosa City, Laguna on 29 July to 01 August 2024, attended by Laguna’s city and municipal DRRMO personnel.  The trainees were tasked to discuss, brainstorm, plan and decide on the operational activities to be done before responding. It also raised awareness on the different ICS positions being used in responding to disasters for them to be equipped with much needed knowledge, skills and attitude in managing disasters and planned events.
