 Laguna holds 4th Governor Ramil L. Hernandez Cup Karatedo Championships


Santa Cruz, Laguna - The Provincial Sports and Games Development Office (PSGDO), in partnership with Japan Karate Shoto-Philippine Karatedo Traditional and Sports (JKS-PKTS) - Laguna, conducted the 4th edition of Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez Cup Laguna Karatedo Championships on 01 February 2025 at the Laguna Sports Complex Basketball Gymnasium in Brgy.  Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.
On behalf of Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, Sports Head Mr. Mario C. Tobias welcomed 565 karatekas representing 38 Karatedo teams from Laguna and nearby cities. 
The event was sanctioned by Karate Pilipinas Sports Federation and included 133 kata and kumite events. Athletes ages 5-73 years old participated in the province’s annual Karatedo event.
The tournament concluded with JKS KSK Phil. (Pasig) as the overall champion. CENEX Karatedo (Sta. Cruz and Cabuyao)took second place, while Cavite Karatedo Dojo and PKTS-JKS Laguna settled for third and fourth places, respectively.
Laguna Karatedo Head Coach and Tournament Manager Christian Dhan D. Deblois extended his gratitude to Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez, PSGDO, and the rest of the provincial government for the continued support to the Karatedo community.
The Laguna Karatedo Championships is the first Governor’s Cup competition organized by PSGDO this year. 
PSGDO’s next local tournament will be the 6th Gov. Ramil L. Hernandez Cup Laguna Intertown Chess Team Championships scheduled on 22-23 March 2025, in partnership with the Laguna Chess Association.  (Greyz Caballes, photos PSGDO/Laguna PIO

Laguna PDRRMO holds Incident Command System Position Course

  The Laguna Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Mr. Aldwin M. Cejo, in coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense CALABARZON, conducted a 5-day Incident Command System (ICS) - Position Course at El Cielito Hotel, Santa Rosa City, Laguna on 29 July to 01 August 2024, attended by Laguna’s city and municipal DRRMO personnel.  The trainees were tasked to discuss, brainstorm, plan and decide on the operational activities to be done before responding. It also raised awareness on the different ICS positions being used in responding to disasters for them to be equipped with much needed knowledge, skills and attitude in managing disasters and planned events.
