Inflation Rate recorded at 1.7 percent in CALABARZON for the month of April 2025
[Lipa City, Batangas] – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) CALABARZON reported the April 2025 inflation in the region via online press conference on 13 May 2025. Regional Director Charito C. Armonia announced that the prices of commodities in the region increased by 1.7 percent, lower than the 1.8 percent rise in prices observed in March.
Lower increase in prices for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages commodity group averaging at 2.1 percent compared to the previous month’s rate of 3.6 percent contributed to the deceleration in the overall inflation rate (IR). In addition, Transport commodity group contributed to the decrease in overall IR, with recorded IR of -2.0, from -1.0 percent in March.
Meanwhile, lower increases in the prices of commodities were observed in the provinces of Cavite and Quezon, along with the region’s highly urbanized city, City of Lucena. Cavite posted the lowest inflation of 0.6 percent, from 1.1 percent inflation in March 2025. Quezon posted an IR of 2.1 percent, from 3.4 percent in March; and City of Lucena at 1.2 percent, from 2.0 percent in March. In contrast, the provinces of Laguna and Rizal posted higher IR in April, both registering 2.4 percent, compared to 2.2 percent and 2.1 percent, respectively, in March. On the other hand, Batangas retained its IR of 1.2 percent.
