Eleven (11) illustrious sons and daughters  of the City of San Pablo, all living,  were chosen as this year “The Outstanding San Pableños” to help commemorate the 85th Founding Anniversary of the City of San Pablo according to City Administrator Larry S. Amante. They who excel in their fields and exemplify the best attributes to the City of San Pablo. They who raised to the heights of progress in numerous human endeavors that brought honors to the city which must be emulated by the upcoming generations.

In the announcement made by the Office of the City Tourism Officer, selected in accordance with City Ordinance No. 49, Series of 2025,  the awardees who will be formally honored by the community during a formal dinner/ meeting of city officials with community leaders this coming Wednesday evening, May 7,  2035, at Auravel Grande Hotel and Resort in Barangay San Francisco, San Pablo City,  are Ms. Jocelyn D. Dequito for Banking/Micro-Finance;   Ms. Ana Maria B. Diaz for Accountancy;   Mr. Sergio A. Gesmundo for Countryside Development;   Eng. Eduardo T. De Mesa for Community Service;   Dr. Susan de Leon Oribiana for Educational Leadership;   Ms. Arlene Amberly U. Palomar for  Youth and Sports;   Mr. Benildo P. Pasco for Business and Industry: Small and Medium Enterprises;   Atty. Mia Antonette M. Quijano for Government Service;   Dr. Maria Cynthia B. Sanchez for Health Services;   Mr. Enrique “Ricky” S. Tan for Business & Industry: Social Entrepreneurship; and   Ms. Maria Beatriz P. Tesoro for Arts and Culture.

Commonwealth Act No. 520 granting City Charter to then prosperous town of San Pablo was signed into law by President Manuel Luis Quezon on May 7, 1940, and formally inaugurated  its city government on January 2, 1941 with Interior Secretary Rafael Alunan inducting the first set of city officials led by former Laguna Governor Potenciano C. Malvar as appointed City Mayor. (Ruben E. Taningco)
