Gov. Sol Aragones Pushes Hospital Upgrades in Surprise Visit to Cailles Memorial Hospital at Pakil, Laguna

In a bid to improve public health services, Governor Sol Aragones conducted a surprise inspection at Cailles Memorial Hospital, Pakil, Laguna together with Dr. Odilon Inoncillo, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Health Office.

Governor Sol raised concerns over outdated equipment, overcrowded wards, and poor maintenance of the provincial health facility.
"Bring your own electricfan," Gov. Sol remarked, noting that patients have resorted to bringing their own portable fans due to poor ventilation inside the hospital wards. She assured that she will send stand fans and improve the ventilation system in every room, with support from the Provincial Health Office.

During her visit at the OB ward and Pediatric ward, the governor pointed out the need for additional hospital beds. "Dapat may isa pa tayong bed dito, maluwag pa naman para komportable lang yung mga bata." She directed the chief of nurse to allocate an empty room for new beds so patients would no longer have to share one.
Aragones also ordered the repair of all comfort rooms, noting that the water system is working properly. She checked the food preparation area and reminded hospital staff to prioritize sanitation and food quality. "Mukhang kailangan linisin pa din ang station ng food," she said, adding that meals for patients should be both nutritious and appetizing.
Upon leaving the facility, the Governor saw piles of unused equipment and instructed the hospital administrative staff to dispose and clean them immediately. She also emphasized the need to address safety and sanitation concerns. "Yung tiles admin paayos natin yan kasi makakaaksidente pa yan," she also  noticed the trash bins, "Nanlilimahid naman ang mga trash can," Gov. Sol stressed. The governor underscored that proper waste management is crucial in maintaining a healthy hospital environment, adding that overflowing and dirty trash bins could pose health risks to both patients and staff if not immediately addressed.

Governor Aragones’ inspection is part of her effort to improve healthcare services and ensure cleaner, safer, and more patient-friendly hospitals across Laguna. She emphasized that even small improvements, such as replacing old furniture, fixing tiles, and keeping trash bins clean, play a major role in protecting the health and dignity of patients. This, she said, reflects her vision of a GOByernong may SOLusyon, a government that responds directly to the needs of its people. ##
