NGCP Donates 400 Food Packs to Laguna Residents, Underscores Community Cooperation for Transmission Safety
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) distributed 400 food packs to residents of Laguna with the support of the Provincial Government under Governor Sol Aragones, and in coordination with the Provincial Public Affairs Office.
According to Joyce Balancio, NGCP Community Relations Officer, the initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, especially for provinces like Laguna where NGCP facilities are located. “Parte po ito ng Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ng aming kompanya; napakahalaga po kasi sa amin ang mga lalawigan gaya ng Laguna kung nasaan po ang aming facilities,” Balancio said.
Each food pack contains five kilos of rice and assorted canned goods.
The provincial government will handle the distribution to communities in need, particularly those affected by natural disasters. Balancio also emphasized the importance of community cooperation in safeguarding NGCP transmission lines, reminding the public to avoid activities such as burning, building structures, or installing antennas that could affect transmission operations.
“Kami po ay nasa transmission service, kailangan po namin ng kooperasyon sa communities,” she added, expressing NGCP’s readiness to extend assistance when needed.
With the combined efforts of NGCP, the provincial government under Gov. Sol Aragones, and the cooperation of local communities, this initiative reflects decisive leadership, political will, and the shared commitment to serve and protect the welfare of every Lagunense. ##
