 Laguna Provincial Jail Conducts Mass Tuberculosis Screening for Inmates and Personnel

Over 700 inmates and more than 100 personnel at Laguna Provincial Jail in Sta. Cruz benefited from an Active Case Finding and Tuberculosis Mass Screening (ACF/TBMS). The program was implemented in coordination with the Provincial Health Office and received full support from the Provincial Government of Laguna under Governor Sol Aragones.““The initiative aimed to ensure that every person deprived of liberty and jail personnel are monitored for tuberculosis, providing early detection and proper medical attention when needed. ““Chief of Rehabilitation of the Provincial Jail, Rhoda Ladiana ,highlighted the importance of the program, saying, "Ito ay malaking tulong sa aming PDL na person deprived of liberty at sa mga personnel ng mga kawani ng Provincial Jail upang matiyak natin ang kalusugan ng bawat PDL."““The screening highlights the Provincial Government’s commitment to promoting health and safety even within correctional facilities.““A PDL expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating, "Kami po ay nagpapasalamat na kamia ay pinadadalhan ng aming mga pangangailangan, lalo't higit lahat tungkol sa aming mga kalusugan."““Nurse Susan of the Provincial Jail added, "Malaking tulong po ito sa ating 725 PDL at 104 personnels natin upang malaman natin na sila ay may problema sa baga. Sinisigurado po ng ating mahal na Gobernadora na ang ating person deprived of liberty ay may maayos na kalusugan at ligtas sa karamdaman through the initiative of PHO Laguna, Chest Center in coordination of DOH IV-A in Partnership with PBSP."““The screening provides timely detection and treatment for tuberculosis, ensuring the health and safety of inmates and jail personnel. ““The program reflects the Provincial Government of Laguna’s commitment to accessible healthcare and Governor Sol Aragones’ dedication to the well being of every Laguna resident even those behind bars.

Laguna PDRRMO holds Incident Command System Position Course

  The Laguna Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) headed by Mr. Aldwin M. Cejo, in coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense CALABARZON, conducted a 5-day Incident Command System (ICS) - Position Course at El Cielito Hotel, Santa Rosa City, Laguna on 29 July to 01 August 2024, attended by Laguna’s city and municipal DRRMO personnel.  The trainees were tasked to discuss, brainstorm, plan and decide on the operational activities to be done before responding. It also raised awareness on the different ICS positions being used in responding to disasters for them to be equipped with much needed knowledge, skills and attitude in managing disasters and planned events.
