Police Regional Office 4A Launches 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration; Governor Sol Aragones Serves as Guest of Honor and Speaker

Laguna-Gov. Sol Aragones underscored the importance of the partnership between men and women in both leadership and friendship.““"Sa araw ng mga Kababaihan, hindi ko sasabihin na kami ang magagaling dahil walang babaeng magaling kung walang lalaking tumutulong at sumusuporta sa kanya." ““The governor delivered the compelling speech during the kickoff ceremony of the Women's Month at the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO 4A)  in Camp Vicente Lim.““The activity carried the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and sub-theme “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!““The ceremony placed emphasis on recognizing women in the Philippine National Police (PNP), particularly female police officers and personnel of PRO 4A, in line with the nationwide observance of Women’s Month.““Governor Aragones was introduced by Police Colonel (PCOL) Ivy Mallo. Also present were PCOL Verna Cabuhat, Team Leader of the PRO 4A PNP Women Support Network; Police Brigadier General (PBGEN) Paul Kenneth Lucas, Regional Director of PRO 4A; Mary June Lucas, Vice President of the Officers’ Ladies Club Foundation, Inc. (OLCFI) and PRO 4A OLCFI Adviser; and NAPOLCOM Regional Director, DIR. Julieta Rañeses.““Governor Aragones   highlighted resilience amid public scrutiny. She shared a story about a mother, a child, and a carabao to illustrate how people tend to criticize regardless of the situation.“““Dito sa mundong ito, kahit anong gawin mo may nasasabi ang tao, maraming komento,” she said, stressing that such criticisms should not stop political leaders to serve. ““The activity was also attended by members of the Philippine National Police across all units of PRO 4A, including members of the command group, senior police commissioned and non-commissioned officers, and uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, who were present in full support and solidarity for the celebration.““The governor also referred to Mary June Lucas as an example of a woman whose strength is complemented by support from her spouse. “Kaya pala magaling ang babaeng ito dahil magaling mag-alaga ang asawa niya,” she said, referring to the wife of the Regional Director.““In her speech, Governor Aragones further recognized the important roles played by women in her administration, including their Provincial Administrator, Atty. Nathalie, as well as members of the LGBTQ+ community working in her office. She reiterated that her leadership promotes inclusivity and does not tolerate gender discrimination.““She likewise cited the provincial government’s free denture program in the third district of Laguna as an example of responding to the concrete needs of constituents. “Maliit ang kwento pero ito ho ang pangunahing pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” she said.““In her message, PCOL Cabuhat echoed the governor's point on the importance of mutual support between men and women in achieving success.““Nagiging successful ang mga babae dahil may mga lalaki din na sumusuporta sa kanila,” she said.“““We, tayo po nagtutulungan towards success.” She also acknowledged that women face distinct challenges, yet continue to demonstrate strength and capability in fulfilling their duties within the police organization.““The kick-off ceremomy reaffirmed PRO 4A’s commitment to empowering women in uniform and strengthening gender equality within the police organization and the communities it serves.(Laguna PIO)
