Bringing Civil Registration Services Closer to Communities: CRS Mobile Outlet Initiative in Bauan
In response to the growing public demand and to ensure wider access to essential services, the Philippine Statistics Authority RSSO IV-A participated in the Civil Registration Service (CRS) Mobile Outlet activity in Bauan, Batangas by promoting awareness on Civil Registration Laws and Programs through primers distribution.
This initiative aimed to educate the public related to civil registration provisions and services as well as updates on relevant laws such as Republic Act No. 9048 (An Act Authorizing the City/Municipal Civil Register or Consul General to Correct a Clerical or Typographical Error in an Entry and /or Change of First Name or Nickname in the Civil Register Without Need of Judicial Order), RA 10172 (An Act Further Authorizing the City or Municipal Civil Registrar or the Consul General to Correct Clerical or Typographical Errors in the Day and Month in the Date of Birth or Sex of a Person Appearing in the Civil Register Without Need of a Judicial Order, Amending for this Purpose Act Numbered Ninety Forty-Eight), Legitimation by Subsequent Marriage, Adoption, Annulment of Marriage, and Republic Act No. 9255 (An Act allowing illegitimate children to use the surname of their father). Likewise National ID (Philsys) updates and Gender and Development (GAD) advocacy materials were distributed..
The CRS Mobile Outlet brings essential civil registration services directly to communities, enabling residents to conveniently request and secure copies of vital documents such as birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR). This also a part of PSA broader effort to enhance service delivery and reach more Filipinos, particularly those in geographically hard-to-reach areas in Bauan.
By bringing these services closer to the people, the PSA ensures that civil registration remains efficient, accessible and responsive to the public’s needs.
